Dr. K. Laxman is the President of Bharatiya Janata Party in Telangana. He is currently representing Musheerabad Assembly constituency and he is also floor leader of BJP in Telangana Legislative Assembly.
He was born in Hyderabad, Telangana and he completed his M.Sc in from PC Centre Osmania University. Dr Laxman secured his Ph. D from Department of Geology, Osmania University
As a student he joined ABVP at Osmania University and in 1980 he joined Bharatiya Janata Party since then he rose to various levels within the Hyderabad City Party and became the President of BJP in Hyderabad from 1995-1999. He contested for the first time from Musheerabad Assembly Constituency in 1994 and lost narrowly to Congress Candidate Kodanda Reddy and then he got elected from the same constituency in 1999 with a huge margin of 18,567 votes. However, he lost in 2004 and 2009 Assembly elections with slender margins against Congress candidates. He won for the second time from Musheerabad Assembly constituency in 2014 Telangana Assembly election.
